Jstreet SS Syllabus – Bible Stories for Year 1

This is the outline section of the entire content.

This syllabus carries 26 lessons (Bible Stories) chosen for the first year out of four. Since we believe teaching the Scripture in a Chronological order is the best way, we have chosen stories from Old Testament through New Testament in the historical sequence and arranged them in order – in the given chart below. Our plan is to cover the whole story of the Bible once, each year. However, the same stories will not repeat in the year two or three or four. Each year different stories will be picked, without repetition, in historical order. Thus, in four years, 100 plus different stories from the Bible will be taught, covering the entire Bible in a year as well as in four years. By then the student will promote to next level.

We shall divide the children into four categories – Beginners (ages 3-6), Primary (7-10), Juniors (11-14) and Seniors (15-18). To each category of children, the story shall be taught in different way. Even though, the story will be same for all four categories, the way we teach differs. How?

Beginners : A simple story

Primary : The story with its complete details

Juniors : The story and additional practical insights

Seniors : The story with its theological insights.

The Teaching Method:

Each story will have a main truth behind it – to be taught on that day (of course, one story – one truth). Therefore, while narrating the story, the teacher should keep the Main Thrust in mind. You are telling the story to impress the Main Truth to their minds.

Please contact us for the fully narrated content of the stories  (9986012000). The ebook/booklet will have  the complete narration of the story and the questions for discussion section. The story has to be taught first, and then the teacher should interact with the children and discuss with them. That is the best way to make a lesson effectively learnt.
